A gripping, addictive read, full of passion, desire, secrets, friendship, family, guilt and love. It definitely left me wanting more. This is a fairy tale love story full of passion, lust and emotions. A brilliant book. I could not put this book down. Wonderfully written about the innocence and heartache of love in a sharp and concise style.

With the wind and rain in my hair and my arms out to the side of me, it feels like it might be possible. Maybe then I could reunite with her. Why she thought she was invincible. The lightning flashes above our heads and collides with the earth. His other hand captures my waist and he leads us swiftly back to the railing, lifting me over it. My feet settle onto the concrete of the bridge that is pooled with puddles. For a second, it feels okay, weightless and uncontrolled.

I tuck my face into his chest, the wet fabric damp against my chilled skin. The scent of him takes me to a place I wish I could go back to—my childhood. Micha pulls back and smoothes my wet hair out of my eyes. He is my best friend, my soul mate.

I can think clearly again. His lips part. I allow his tongue to caress mine, letting him suck the rain from my bottom lip and savor the taste of me. I could let it go on forever, but that would be wrong. The girl he thinks he loves needs to disappear. Then I walk away, leaving him on the bridge in the rain, along with the old Ella.

Chapter 1 8 months later… Ella I despise mirrors. Not because I hate my reflection or that I suffer from Eisoptrophobia. They know who I used to be; a loud spoken, reckless girl, who showed what she felt to the world. There were no secrets with me. But now secrets define me.

My long auburn hair goes well with my pale complexion. There is no running away anymore, only dealing with it and eventually moving on. He worries about me all the time and the guilt consumes me. He should be happy, love life, do what he wants to do. He deserves it. I bury my face into his chest and breathe him in, never wanting to let him go. I shut my eyes and suck back the tears. My skin warms as his hands explore my back and his fingers graze across my ass, begging my body closer to his.

I tangle my fingers through his soft hair before securing my arms around the back of his neck.

His tongue traces the inside of my mouth and he intensifies the kiss until we have to pull away to catch our breath. My chest heaves as I gaze out at the lake one last time and the sun reflects in the water.

I let him drive and he flies down the dirt road, leaving a cloud of dust behind us that quickly vanishes.

Chapter 1 Two months later Ella Every night I have the same dream. Micha and I are standing on opposite ends of the bridge. Rain beats down violently from the dark sky and the wind kicks up debris between us. Micha extends his hand and I walk toward him, but he slips away from me until he lands up on the railing of the bridge.

A gust of wind slams into him and he falls backward, vanishing into the darkness. I wake up screaming and full of guilt. When she mentioned it, my heart sped up and my palms began to sweat. I never looked far enough into the future to realize that maybe one day Micha and I may not be together. A forever? Does such a thing exist? With as much time as we spend together I wonder where our relationship is going.

The wind was blowing and all I could think about was how much death owned life.

At any moment death could snatch up life and take it away, just like it had done with my mom and Grady. Nodding, I extended my hand toward the jar. He moved the jar toward me and we held onto it together. Micha and I are standing on opposite ends of the bridge. Rain beats down violently from the dark sky and the wind kicks up debris between us. Nodding, I extended my hand toward the jar. He moved the jar toward me and we held onto it together. As we watched them float down to the lake, Micha wrapped his arm around me and took a shot of tequila. He had offered me a sip, but I had declined.

My insides shook as pain rushed through me, but I quickly repressed it. Though sunlight sparkled down on us, there was a chill in the air as I observed the lake that seemed to hold everything. It was connected to so many deep, painful memories of my past with my mom and myself. Class got out like five minutes ago… What the heck is that drawing of?
