Go for jogs in the morning hell, these guys even did pilates! Sneak out to have ice-cream. Be overly emotional for no darn reason - even write letters that make a first-grader proud!
Whining 24 x 7 x not about the syllabus or study load, but about family, love, and cheating, ugh! If I compare these guys to my father, then I either feel like something's wrong with my dad or that the author's got the IIT mentality wrong at the roots I mean, aren't they supposed to be these demigods of intelligence? C'mon, the supporting cast had no girlfriends, you could have spared us ONE whole character, Mr.
All right, that said, I felt that Operation Pendulum's final night was cut straight out of a Bollywood movie - so many dramatic coincidences altogether NOT giving away spoilers, so breathe?
In IIT? This is beyond preposterous and, to be fair on the IIT guys, a little insulting. All in all, the book was by far the worst read I've picked in a long while and don't think that I'll dare pick up another Chetan Bhagat novel in my life. Sorry, but I feel that one star is also grand for what I endured through the read Goodreads doesn't let me mark 0. Will someone please tell me? I am not talking to you. Ryan looked at me.
You have completely forgotten us. For Alok still had the signs. And after all. Two months have passed. It is just this assignment for Prof. What happened? He was in a happy mood. They have an important project. Okay Aunty? She nodded. We saw her leave after half an hour. A scooter accident with Ryan and me perfectly fine was somewhat unbelievable. I want to meet your Prof. Veera before I go home.
We stood by the auto. Could any male in her family stand on his own legs? I wondered when the class would begin. In the final semester.
His forehead developed crease as he tried to remember. He was a senior prof. You will be in classes all day. Ryan took a shower and then proceeded to carefully comb his hair for the next twenty minutes. We were the first students to arrive. That is. You were part of the committee.
We were. Will you be graduating on time? None of that was imminent as of now so Prof Saxena was content teaching final year students how to keep things cool. Even then we made it before class began. And that too they hardly attend class. Who would have thought fourth year students will reach early for class.
A blackboard Never looked so great.. Even though we have loaded up courses for this semester. And I am trying to reduce. And with my. I had to. Do you realize. No choice. For the. But a date with Neha was date with Neha.
Can I download you an ice cream? I remembered earlier eight a. Finish five assignments on the weekend. Alok and I took out our pens and jotted down every word the prof spoke for the next hour. I had to scramble to make it for a date.
But this Disco might spoil your entire degree. Look at you boys. I ran out to. Lots of software companies this time. A few other students trickled in over the next few minutes. You should see the girls in m college. And since when were you into assignments so much? You look great. I think there were ten of us in class. But right now. And it is. What did he say? Dean Shastri was quite impressed with the findings.
Is he giving you a lot of trouble? That is not what it is about. I became quiet and looked into her eyes.. They were talking about this proposal.
But what to do? Never had this much- course-load before: I iniss my loafer.
And he comes and searches my room now. Will you keep my letter then? I am not just cogging assignments and beating the system. I did hear him talk about you guys the other day though. Then another three hours in the library Then another two for assignments and revisions.
It was a weird gift. Are you crazy? People know me. What is it about then? I am going mad. Why do girls take so long to come to the point? But he told Dean Shastri not to trust these students. They have. That is complete crap. You know Neha, how much we worked our asses off on it. But that is what he said. Kannan Shastri From the Reviews: "Although the writing can be quite jarring and clumsy -- this, however, could be intentional in an effort to create a narrative of authentic colloquial speech -- it is a well-constructed book with great characters and a captivating plot.
Definitely on the right side of five-point something on a point scale. It also manages to cover the heavy ground of life's lessons without the horribly earnest moralising and navel-gazing that is the bane of so much Indian writing in English.
In fact for much of the narrative, Bhagat sustains a darkly funny tone that anyone from India's top professional colleges will instantly recognise.
Where Five Point Someone seems slightly let down, though, is in the editing of the beginning and the end of the novel. A more experienced editor would have fought a lot harder to keep out the author's explanations of what he is all about from the beginning and the end of the book.
But the book captures some of the ambience of a residential engineering institution with a subculture defined by its own dictionary of acronyms. The arrhythmia of the narrative reflects the staccato nature of a life of lazy moments interspersed with frantic activity.
It could be Harvard, except for the desi flavour of the locales. The language used is original, and the dialogue fresh and youthful. The casual, easy-flowing style makes for easy reading. This is pages of pure fun, and a steal at Rs Carry on, Bhagat.
