Looks like a dump of data from some computer program. Poorly written and very poorly explained.
The diagram seems to be the central focus. I think the author has done a very poor job of explaining his concepts. This book does not use the staff and conventional music notation. The notation used is OK but a bit annoying when one is proficient in reading standard musical notation.
My solution was to go through the book and translate the relevant sections to me into standard musical notation with a staff and notes. If you are fed up with "Methods", this is for you!
