They think being married is something that is very limiting because they still demand and love total freedom of control they have in their own lives before marriage. However, a temporary change of attitude will never work out in the end, right?

The theme of possessive love, with poetic kind of prose that feels kind of exaggerating is definitely not my cup of tea here. The first person point of view made the story falls on the reflective side and does not feel much like a story where the readers would be drawn in and be overwhelmed into the story. Critical Eleven Ika Natassa Score: 4. The story itself as a whole feels just like a teaser to the novel because I know that this Critical Eleven will be a novel-length story.

Despite being just like a teaser, the author managed to make me want to read the novel because the way she tells the story was so smooth. The sentences in the story, however, fall into the mixed up category because the proportion of English and Bahasa is kind of like almost here.

As for characters, I will give the credit for the female lead because she gives a few relatable insights one of which I still remember was about a bookstore. She said that a bookstore is one of the least discriminative places because all genres of books are there under one roof and that everyone can have a good time there and enjoy doing their own things.

As I may have said before, I enjoy good romance stories. And I also like my romance to be polite. Ilana Tan is that one author who manages to achieve both and in such a short story format too. Her chemistry with Tatsuya to feels solid and natural. This make me remember of Winter in Tokyo by Ilana Tan to some extent especially little details such as fine restaurant and Ramen, also the male lead character being a doctor. It feels like the story is set in Japan like the aforementioned novel by miss Ilana Tan.

Thankfully, the ending was satisfying and I personally admire the male lead for his loyalty to his woman. The plot is about a couple who has a quarrel because of their different views on how they should value their relationship.

The female lead thinks that she loved her boyfriend because she shows her love for the world to see. She always shows that she cares for her boyfriend through various social media activities she has with him. While, the male lead, on the contrary, shows his love through real actions rather than words, comments, or anything that has to do with virtual media on the net for the world to see. This mindset too, what I personally try to apply in my real life.

It is very relatable for me, the way the male lead acts here.

I like my romance story told politely. Uniquely, this story was told using various points of views from all of the characters involved within it. I score this on par with story number nine because of the choice of words. In addition, I like this one better than Thirty Something by Aemilia. This story feels more realistic. The theme of platonic love turned into romantic love was conveyed more convincingly here even if the determining factor for Vira, one of the female leads, to realize her feelings was a bit funny.

You will understand this once you have read it. Romance done in this way read: a lot of points of views is a very refreshing take among the other stories compiled here. The ending here is also open enough for the readers to speculate over more than one possibilities on how the characters will actually end up. Will they finally decide to love or keep their friendship?

The daughter was somehow ungrateful with her attention and thinks it was just an annoyance because she really feels that she knows more about her world, journalism, better than her mother does.

The whole story feels rather flat, to be honest, even if the theme is something a little different compared to the other stories. I remember, once, I also created a short story with familial love as the core topic that I wanted to present.

So, I kind of knows how it was not so easy to create one story like this and in short story format too. Practice makes perfect I guess. This author has potential to be better and big like miss Ilana or Ika Natassa. Senja Yang Sempurna Rosi L. Simamora Score: 3. But, as for me, I think this story is a rather sad one because the male lead is a closed individual who secretly loves a woman.

Since he was not brave enough to clear this up, he ended up being disappointed because her love for him has changed. Cinta 2x24 Jam Shandy Tan Score: 3.

I enjoy good romance stories. Ilana, compared to other Indonesian authors of the same genre, utilized polite choice of words to tell the stories in all of her books without hindering the flow of the story.

It is compulsively smooth and readable. Regarding the contents of the book, here are my reviews on each story. Be Careful What Autumn Once More is a collection of short stories composed by many authors compiled in one book. It was written with a lot of slang dictions. However, for the sake of storytelling purpose, it made the story feels more natural.

However, stalking is still wrong and I personally prefer to know people better in real life than through social media.

The moral of the story is perhaps something that goes like this: If you love someone, tell them, what happens next is for them to decide. Confessing your love for someone is not a crime, after all. You may make them happy actually, no matter what the answer may be in the end. I am serious. If you love someone, you can do crazy things and even throw out your pride just to make that someone knew that you love them.

Thirty Something Anastasia Aemilia Score: 3.

When this is done right, however, it will be great such as this story. Well, I may not be thirty-something of age yet, but I guess, I can imagine how the inner struggle that the female main character must face felt so real and agitating. The ending itself is open enough for more speculations on how the two characters in the story will end up. This is what I like about a short story.

The craft is short, but it may leave different interpretation for each reader to think for themselves. The plot is kind of unnatural and feels forced.

Pulitzer Prize for Fiction

The use of the elevator issue as the bridge for the main characters to build up the whole plot is kind of weird. There are enough coincidences to tolerate and this one story has more. One other forced plot development is the part where the other guy being judged as playboy just as he was seen with another girl, thus making the female main character turn her attention immediately to the other male main character, the guy in the blue shirt, she said.

It is good to see that the author manages to create a romance story from the point of view of the male character. They think being married is something that is very limiting because they still demand and love total freedom of control they have in their own lives before marriage. However, a temporary change of attitude will never work out in the end, right?
